چکیده

Temperature plays an important role in the development and survival of insects. The effects temperature on two cricket species, Acheta domesticus Gryllus bimaculatus were determined at six constant temperatures (18, 22, 26, 30, 34 380C). Parameters for stage-specific such as fecundity, weight fat content, structural body size, sex ratio, time, longevity investigated. Relative humidity, light intensity, photoperiod set 60-90 %, 500 ± 25 Lux, 12:12 L:D, respectively. results indicated that duration eggs nymphal stages significantly influenced by increased temperature. egg-to-adult developmental period declined from 200.5 days to 66.26 180C 30 °C while decreased 231.82 62.22 18 34°C. optimum estimated ranged 26˚C 34˚C. Longevity both females males was higher (female: F5, 401 = 7.5, P < 0.001; male: 6.4, 0.001) 18oC than other temperatures, with shortest recorded 20.19 days; 26.67 days) (Females: 25.56 Males: 27.49 38oC. Fecundity highest 26°C (1360 eggs/female/generation) lowest 18°C (101 domesticus. For bimaculatus, fecundity 30°C (1722 (123 eggs/female/generation). optimal crickets range Understanding impacts would provide information how climate change shapes insect ecologies enable forecasting models.

Localization of Ribosomal Dna within Oocytes of the House Cricket, Acheta Domesticus (orthoptera: Gryllidae)

A large DNA-containing body is present in addition to the chromosomes in oocytes of the house cricket Acheta domesticus. Large masses of nucleolar material accumulate at the periphery of the DNA body during the diplotene stage of meiotic prophase I. RNA-DNA hybridization analysis demonstrates that the genes which code for 18S and 28S ribosomal RNA are amplified in the ovary. In situ hybridizati...

Embryonic development of the cricket Gryllus bimaculatus.

Extensive research into Drosophila melanogaster embryogenesis has improved our understanding of insect developmental mechanisms. However, Drosophila development is thought to be highly divergent from that of the ancestral insect and arthropod in many respects. We therefore need alternative models for arthopod development that are likely to be more representative of basally-branching clades. The...

New microsatellite loci isolated from the field cricket Gryllus bimaculatus characterized in two cricket species, Gryllus bimaculatus and Gryllus campestris.

We have developed a new set of 27 polymorphic markers for each of two cricket species, Gryllus bimaculatus and Gryllus campestris. Initially, 14 published G. bimaculatus loci were tested in G. campestris; however, only five loci were polymorphic. Therefore, we isolated an additional 50 new microsatellite loci from G. bimaculatus and tested these in both species. In a minimum of 20 individuals, ...
